What is micro-needling & how does it work?

Are you looking for a non-invasive way to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and give your skin a more youthful look? If so, you may want to consider micro-needling, also known as collagen induction therapy.

Micro-needling is a cosmetic procedure that involves using a device with fine needles to create microscopic punctures in the skin. (I know – this sounds scary, but most clients fall asleep during the treatment!) The procedure is designed to stimulate the production of collagen and elastin, the proteins that give the skin its elasticity and support. As we age, our bodies produce less of these proteins, leading to the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

By promoting the production of collagen and elastin, micro-needling can help improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, giving the skin a smoother, more youthful appearance. It can also help improve the overall texture and tone of the skin, reduce the appearance of pores, and even out skin discoloration.

The procedure is generally well-tolerated and does not require any downtime. It is usually done in a series of sessions, with each session lasting about 30 minutes. The number of sessions needed will depend on the individual’s skin concerns and goals, but typically we recommend a minimum of 4-6 for maximum results.

Overall, micro-needling is a safe and effective treatment for improving the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and giving the skin a more youthful look.
